Turkey’s renowned theatre director Işıl Kasapoğlu is back again in Bilkent for our second senior project!
We are so proud and honored that Turkey’s renowned theatre director Işıl Kasapoğlu is back again to direct and inspire our senior students in their second senior project production of “Love Kills” by Vladimir Volkoff. A graduate of Galatasaray high school, and Theatre Department at Paris Sorbonne, Kasapoğlu has directed plays for many theatres in France and Turkey for the last 50 years. Kasapoğlu is the founder of theatres and theatre departments, including his independent theatre Semaver Kumpanya, and he has been the recipient of many prestigious awards for his lifelong contributions to theatre. Kasapoğlu was the curator of 26. And 27. IKSV Istanbul Theatre Festivals, and his many plays are currently playing and touring throughout Turkey.

4. sınıf öğrencilerimizin ikinci mezuniyet projesinde Türkiye’nin en önemli tiyatro yönetmenlerinden Işıl Kasapoğlu’nu, Vladimir Volkoff’un “Aşk Öldürür” adlı oyununu yönetmek üzere tekrar aramızda görmekten büyük bir onur ve gurur duyuyoruz. Galatasaray Lisesi ve Paris Sorbonne Tiyatro Bölümü mezunu olan Kasapoğlu, son 50 yıldır Fransa ve Türkiye’de birçok tiyatroda sayısız oyun yönetti. Başta Semaver Kumpanya olmak üzere bağımsız tiyatrolar ve tiyatro bölümleri de kuran Kasapoğlu, tiyatro sanatına yaşamı boyunca yaptığı katkılardan dolayı sayısız ödüle layık görüldü. 26. ve 27. İKSV İstanbul Tiyatro Festivallerinin küratörlüğünü yapan Kasapoğlu’nun birçok oyunu halen Türkiye’nin dört bir yanında oynanıyor.
