SENA HATİP DİNÇYÜREK
PART-TIME INSTRUCTOR – INTRODUCTION TO THEATRE HISTORY
Sena Dinçyürek received her Ph.D. from Bilkent University in 2018 and taught history and humanities courses at several universities in Ankara. In 2024–25, she was a visiting scholar at the Orient-Institut Istanbul. She has been teaching ‘Introduction to Theatre History’ at Bilkent University Theatre Department since Spring 2025.
Dr. Dinçyürek is a published historian; her book titled A “Compassionate” Episode in Anglo-Ottoman History British Relief to ‘93 Refugees (1877-78) was published by Libra in 2013. She authored book chapters and articles in both local and international journals, and participated in a number of international conferences. Her latest publication appeared in British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies (Vol. 53, 2026). Her research interests include biography, cultural and diplomatic history, philanthropy, gender studies and the history of Late Ottoman Theatre, with a particular emphasis on the Palace Theatre.
